Luna helped me with my measles, and I was fine within weeks. She’s really great and she’s my favourite doctor!

WORKING HOURS
I was born and raised in Jamaica where from a young age I remember participating in helping to care for my sickly grandparents. This is where my desire to become a nurse was first nurtured. So when it was time, I moved to NYC and obtained my BSN from Lehman College. I started working in Med/Surg Oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital then quickly transitioned to Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Working with cancer patients was definitely not without its challenges but I was able to provide a more well rounded care for my patients through physical, emotional and spiritual avenues. Holistic care has always been the most important thing to me as I have practiced this personally and for the entirety of my nursing career. As the end of 2019 was nearing I felt called to start transitioning in my career to travel nursing. This had been a desire of mine for some time so I could travel, move out West, and start exploring more holistic education. I took the leap in 2020 and it led me to Los Angeles to work at Cedar Sinai and City of Hope. It was here that solidified my desire to start transitioning from conventional medicine to preventative medicine.
Being healthy from the inside out is not just about the foods we eat or the workouts we do but also our emotional expressions, mental health and spiritual practices. These are core values of mine and it has been disheartening to come to the realization that the industry I was so passionate about being a-part of had various shortcomings in these areas. I began to see how there was more emphasis placed on the use of pharmaceutical drugs for illnesses that could be treated by lifestyle changes. There is also continual effort to devalue traditional healing practices and dismissal of how mental and emotional states affect the body. It was very evident that this kind of “health care” did not address the root cause of illnesses, but has what is called the “bandaid” effect, which perpetuates sickness and disease. This was the biggest motivator to start a company that upheld and practiced my core values. Thus, Westside Wellness was born.
My inspiration to show up to Westside Wellness everyday is to help those who are seeking true health from the inside out. True health is an ongoing journey but together we can achieve it easier and faster. I have found that IV vitamin therapy is one of the simplest and quickest ways to achieve this on a physical level. The benefits of this treatment are monumental in providing the environment for the body to heal itself. The outpouring of testimonials from my clients on the positive impact it has had on their health is overwhelming and motivates me to keep going. During the treatment session is when I’m able to connect with my clients and provide support or guidance in whatever way is needed. I truly enjoy this aspect of my work because there is so much healing in simply listening and sharing with care. This ties in the holistic aspect of health I value so deeply.
I believe everyone deserves to be a part of a supportive community and I am honored and grateful to serve in this way. It’s become quite cliche but together we can heal this world, one step at a time. In this case, one IV at a time. This is only the beginning and I look forward to helping you live your best life.
